The Church of God in Texas

Camp Powers is nestled in the piney woods of east Texas just east of Nacogdoches.  This Church of God encampment has been influencing teens and congregations in Texas for more than 50 years.

 

Given to the East Texas Church of God district by the Powers family, this encampment has developed into an ideal setting for retreats and camps. 

 

The grounds feature lodging for close to 150 campers in various styled rooms including bunkhouses and motel-style rooms.  It also has a full-serviceable kitchen and dining hall, swimming pool, open-air tabernacle, and conference center known as "Big Green."

 

Clyde and Loretta Smith are the caretakers for Camp Powers.
