H.O.P.E. Ministry (Houston First Church of God)

"Last October we launched our H.O.P.E. Ministry (to learn more, go to www.chog.org, click on News, then scroll down to 1/06/2012 and read HOPE for the Homeless article). On Christmas Day, Merry, one of our H.O.P.E. guests was baptized. She is now in church every Sunday! Today (February 19), we baptized Brandon, who also came to us through H.O.P.E. While I was preparing to baptize him, Wolf (another member of our HO.P.E. family) headed to the altar and gave his life to Christ. I think we’ve lost a few of the “saints” over this ministry, because some from our H.O.P.E. family don’t look or smell like the rest of us. But I’d rather run a hospital for the sin-sick in our world than preside over a country club for the saints. God alone deserves all the glory." -- submitted by Pastor Don Bergstrom
